Had a fabulous afternoon with these 3! It was predominately for Loki the clumber puppy as he came from Taehyas litter his new owners want to ensure he is trained fully. JJ is his older half brother who needs to fine tune his recall and Merlin the springer just enjoyed himself!

Sky has started her training with us, she doesn't need much but there are a few tweaks that need to be refined, as Sky will go off and not listen when other dogs were about.

Her owner has put a lot of work into her already and would like to get back to competitive obedience with her as well

Got the delight of meeting this little chap this morning! This is Barrington, his family wanted to get his training right from the get go as he is their first dog as a family.

I also have a bias as he belongs to my cousin too! He picked it up quickly and already looking forward to seeing him again!

I met Maud last year as a 5 month old puppy, where she and her owners worked hard to get the basics so that they could enjoy walks with her offlead confident she would come back.

One of her biggest fears however, was the car. She was terrified to the point of being physically sick and frozen with fear.
So we did a desensitisation programme, and once again her committed owners worked hard so she would get in but would have to be on the floor and as low as possible

That's Bertie, he used to run off and ignore all attempts of cues from his owners to go say Hi to other dogs. His owners worked hard and would pop him on lead when they saw other dogs to manage the situation while training him.

After several weeks of not seeing them today we saw them as I was walking my own dogs early. He came over but recalled immediately when called, usually When we part ways he used to ignore his dad until put on lead.

Today however! He recalled and went on his way, focusing on his dad. #puppy #puppiesofinstagramn #dogtraininghelp #essexdogs #gsdpuppy #puppytraining #roguepaws I am so so proud of both of them as his dad has worked so hard to get him to this point!!

It's getting hot and I am saddened ro see people a

It's getting hot and I am saddened ro see people are still walling their dogs when the temperature is over 25 degrees.

They suffer too and sometimes we have to protect them from themselves. When it is going to be hot try doing the following;
Walks early in the morning or late evening, take plenty of water for them. Avoid pavement walking as the pavements will be hot and could burn their paws.
Provide plenty of water daily
Freeze yoghurt or goats milk with fruit (apples, banana, berries, apricots, pears, melons), peanutbutter, etc to give them a ice cream!

Freeze watermelon in slices for a cooling treat.

Use cool mats or soak old towels and pop in the freezer for an hour to cool for them to lie on

If they like water use a paddling pool or go to a hydrotherapy centre for a fun swim (check out Completely K9 Hydrotherapy & Rehabilitation )

Keep rooms cool with fans or AC and curtains closed

If you think your dog has suffered from heatstroke phone your vets asap for advice!!

It's never easy to say goodbye it's even harder when it's unexpected and to one that isn't that old. Today we had to say goodbye to Anya after a short illness.

Please bear with me with messages and emails as I process the loss of a great character and help get my others through this sad time.

Thought it was time to reintroduce myself, I am Izzie and the person behind Rogue Paws!

I got into training whilst using dog walking to rehabilitate my foot after an accident. What started as a way of staying active became a passion for dogs.

I have a degree in Canine training and Behaviour, I also qualified at Level 5 in Small Animal hydrotherapy and currently work part time at a centre in Canvey Island. In the near future I plan to extend the services I offer to include multi modal therapies and exercises for rehabilitation, fitness and maintenance.

I have 3 clumbers Kalani, Falkor and Taehya and an English Springer Spaniel Anya. I have shown the clumbers with both Kalani and Falkor achieving show champion status.

You will also find us representing clumbers at various events including discover dogs talking dogs.

New Boy Olly and his owners wanted help with some

New Boy Olly and his owners wanted help with some basic training including stopping olly from attacking the hoovers and brooms, stealing clothing and guarding items.

He has only had 2 sessions and is coming along nicely!

All dog need to have the basics before we can work on the more complicated behaviours, his owners are already seeing improvements!
